Raw material used for extraction may be either fresh or dry botanical material as available. These are carefully extracted to optimise the desirable extractives. The solvent system may be aqueous, alcoholic, oily, glycolic or glycerol or a combination of these.
Botanical extracts provide a wealth of therapeutic value and marketing potential and are very much current in today’s skin care products. Of particular interest is Inovia’s range of Fresh “Fruit” and Fresh “Salad” Infusions. There is almost endless possibility to determine fruit and herb combinations or to develop bespoke multi herb or multi fruit blends.
Many of the raw materials we use for extraction are also offered as dry whole, cut herb and botanicals. Some extracts are also available as powders or standardised extracts for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or EFM (concentrated “Extracts For Making”). BP and EP grade extracts are manufactured for pharmaceutical use.
